Brunei Darussalam, often simply referred to as Brunei, is a small but wealthy and historically rich country in Southeast Asia. The name "Brunei Darussalam" translates to "Brunei, the Abode of Peace," reflecting its long-standing tradition of stability and prosperity.

Location: Southeast Asia, on the northern coast of the island of Borneo, bordered by the South China Sea and Malaysia.
Area: Approximately 5,765 square kilometers (2,226 square miles).
Capital: Bandar Seri Begawan.
Climate: Tropical rainforest climate, characterized by high temperatures, high humidity, and heavy rainfall.

Currency: Brunei dollar (BND), which is pegged to the Singapore dollar (SGD).
Demographics
Population: Approximately 430,000 (as of 2023).
Ethnic Groups: Predominantly Malay (about 65%), followed by Chinese and indigenous groups.
Language: Malay (official), English is widely spoken, and various Chinese dialects are also used.
Religion: Islam (official religion, practiced by about 80% of the population), with minorities practicing Christianity, Buddhism, and other faiths
