OPTIONAL SIGHTSEEING & EXCURSIONS

With Insight, you will enjoy many of Europe’s famous highlights as included features of your tour - at no extra cost. However, there is an exciting array of additional excursions which are made available to help turn an already outstanding experience into the trip of a lifetime. These are entirely optional and are offered to you at competitive prices. They are all bookable through your Tour Director at the commencement of your tour as many of them are planned to coincide with the best highlights available at the time of your visit.

The following list is general as it would be impossible to operate all excursions on any one tour. The actual tours to be offered will be advised to you by your Tour Director.

All prices are quoted in Euros, which have been rounded for convenience. Payment can be made in cash or by the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard or American Express. All credit card transactions will be charged in Euros. For payments in other currencies your Tour Director will advise the relevant exchange rates at the commencement of your tour.

HOW TO BUDGET FOR OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS
This list is for guidance only. The final list of optional excursions to be offered during your tour will be given to you by your Tour Director.To allow you to participate in a selection of these additional evenings of dinner/entertainment and special interest sightseeing excursions, please budget for an approximate cost of €30-40 per person per day.

TAORMINA

TAO01 EXCURSION TO MT ETNA
A fascinating journey takes us to the active volcano of Mt Etna. With our local guide, we visit various lava flow sites before enjoying the breathtaking views and lush vegetation. €28

TAO04 SÁVOCA
You will recognize this picture perfect Sicilian hill village, which was chosen for the filming of the Godfather. The views are gorgeous as we stroll to see the charming church and the same local bar where Al Pacino fell in love. The local people are always happy to share their memories with you. €29

TAO05 EXCURSION TO MOUNT ETNA & WINERY LUNCH
A fascinating journey takes us to the active volcano of Mt.Etna,with its various lava flows and breathtaking views. While still in the Mt.Etna National Park we visit a local winery where we enjoy a light lunch of specialties from the region and taste the wine produced on the slopes of the volcano. €57

PAALERMO

PAL01 LUNCH OR DINNER IN PALERMO
A very unique experience awaits you - a local, rustic farmhouse! Dinner is an abundant feast of homemade specialities, including the wine. This historical property is where Giuseppe Garibaldi was a guest. It was also used as Carabinieri barracks in their search for the famous bandit Salvatore Giuliani. A significant evening to induce your culinary passion! €48

PAL02 SANTA ROSALIA & THE CAPUCHIN CATACOMBS
We drive to Mount Pellegrino, where we have spectacular views over Palermo, to visit the grotto of Santa Rosalia, Palermo’s patron saint. Then we return to Palermo to visit the Capuchin Catacombs, where we see the impressive sight of more than 8,000 mummies from all age groups, perfectly preserved by the very dry air present in the catacombs. €23

PAL03 SANTA ROSALIA & SEAFOOD MEAL
We drive up Mt. Pellegrino for spectacular views of Palermo. We then visit the grotto of Santa Rosalia before continuing to a local village by the sea for an excellent meal of local seafood specialities €52

MALTA

MAL01 EXCURSION TO MDINA
We visit the Jewel of Malta - once the Old Capital called Mdina. It is a medieval town, with narrow quiet streets situated in the centre of the island. It is also known as the “Silent City”. It commands magnificent views and the city displays an unusual mix of Norman and Baroque architecture, including several palaces, most of which serve as private homes. Dinner is included. €55

MAL03 FULL DAY EXCURSION TO GOZO
Full day excursion to Gozo Island including lunch. Gozo is the second largest after the island of Malta itself within the archipelago. Compared to its neighbour island, Gozo is more rural and known for its scenic hills, which feature on its coat of arms. Gozo is famed for its character and places of interest €60

RAG01 GUIDED TOUR OF RAGUSA IBLA
A visit to the spectacularly sited old town of Ragusa with a local guide. This original town was destroyed in an earthquake in 1693 which was then consequently rebuilt. It has now achieved UNESCO World Heritage Site status due to its beautiful Baroque Churches and squares €23
